Abstract

This study aims to explore the contribution of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in improving the speaking quality of students at STAI Nurul Ilmi Tanjungbalai, focusing on the analysis of students’ mindsets and rhetorical abilities. The method used is qualitative with a case study approach, involving in-depth interviews and participatory observation of 20 students from the Islamic Religious Education and Islamic Education Management study programs. The data were thematically analyzed to identify students’ perceptions, attitudes, and experiences in utilizing AI technology as a tool to assist rhetorical learning. The results indicate that students have an open and adaptive mindset toward the use of AI, which is considered to facilitate the learning process and significantly enhance speaking skills. These findings confirm the strategic role of Artificial Intelligence as an effective supporting medium in developing rhetorical competence within the STAI Nurul Ilmi Tanjungbalai environment.
